Boulder County Virtual Food Drive

Organized by Boulder County

Boulder County is organizing a food drive in order to give our employees the opportunity to give back to those in our community who have been impacted by the challenges of this year. This optional food drive is organized to support Community Food Share whose mission is to eliminate hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

Community Food Share is anticipating a 35% increase in demand this year due to the pandemic. They have been working tirelessly since March to distribute over 1 million pounds of food each month to members of our community. If you would like to make a donation to Community Food Share we are providing two ways to donate during this food drive:

  • PWES Pick-up in-person food drive
    • Food donation bins will be placed at all PWES bulk order pick-up locations. Please bring your non-perishable food items you with to donate when you attend your scheduled pick-up time.
    • **IMPORTANT: You cannot show up to the PWES pick-up locations to donate food unless you ordered through the purchasing program and have a previously scheduled time to pick-up your items. We must abide by all BCPH and CDPHE social distancing guidelines and limit the number of employees in our county buildings**
  • Online monetary donations
    • If you did not order through the PWES purchasing program but would still like to contribute to Community Food Share, you can do so through monetary donations on Boulder County’s virtual food drive website.

Please remember, this food drive is 100% optional and is designed to give Boulder County employees a safe way to give back to our community during these difficult times.

We would also like to recognize that 2020 has been a challenging year full of changes for Boulder County employees as well. Some of you are now the primary earners in your household or are caring for loved ones you didn’t have to care for previously, or a number of other major changes. We wanted to take this opportunity to recognize that some of you, or your loved ones, may be facing new financial limitations or difficulties and we wanted to let you know that Community Food Share is here to help.

We will be hosting a webinar on October 28th at 12 PM with Kat Arnedo, from Community Food Share. Kat will share information on how Community Food Share has adapted to the challenges of the pandemic and how they are providing safe access to nutritious food and other services to our community that you or your loved ones may benefit from.

To learn more, please join us virtually on October 28th by accessing the webinar.

Times are tough, but Boulder County employees are resilient.

Whether through your roles with the county, charitable donations, volunteer work, or raising awareness, working together, we can build stronger, healthier communities.
